Project Details

MJ Architectural Studios worked with the City of Warroad’s Airport Commission on remodeling and expanding their existing terminal and residence.  The existing facility was a metal building constructed in the early 1970’s.  Remodeling included providing new handicapped facilities throughout, expansive windows for viewing, and all new finishes inside and out.  New spaces included adding office space and flight plan room/pilot lounge.  The adjacent residence for the airport manager was also completely remodeled including new kitchen, living, bath, laundry, and bedroom spaces.  The entire facility was designed around energy efficiency by replacing the mechanical systems, using high performance glazing in new windows and doors, and incorporating additional insulation and adhered EPDM roof system over the existing metal roof.
