Valley Home Dementia Unit Expansion

Completed in 2006, MJ Architectural Studios designed an addition to Valley Home, an established assisted-living care facility.  This expansion added 24 residents to their facility, designed to Nursing Home standards specifically for residents in early stages of dementia.  The layout of the addition included 4 pods of 6 private rooms with a centralized service core for dining, activities, nurses station, family room, and hair salon.  A second floor was developed in the roof structure to house mechanical and electrical systems for efficient connection to the main service core and pods.  The expansion consisted of 16,000 sq. ft. with a construction budget of $2.1 Million.
